Participated by 35 delegates coming from Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur and Marawi City, the Ranao Women and Children Resource Center (RWCRC) successfully held its 4th General Assembly at Villa Lacida Session, Samburun, Linamon, Lanao del Norte on September 25, 2018.
The central theme of the general assembly was Gender Role, Sexuality in Digital World. According to Ms. Rizalina Amesola, the outgoing executive director and the newly elected president of the board of trustees of the organization, women and children exploitation goes beyond physical contact. “We have seen the rise of online prostitution where women and children are forced to perform live sexual act for online customers who are from different points of the world. This poses great challenge for us who are working to end gender based violence and human trafficking,” she added.
During the assembly, Ms. Amesola presented the activities, projects and achievements of the organization for the past two years. There was also a review of the constitution and the by-laws of the organization and restructuring of its programs and intervention.
